Privacy Policy
The short version
We collect the minimum needed to sell you an academy and let you in: your email and account, your purchases, and basic site analytics. We never see your card number, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
What we collect and why
- Account & email. When you buy or start a free preview, an account is created (hosted with Supabase) so we know what you own and can let you sign in.
- Payments. Handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us — we receive only confirmation of the purchase.
- Site analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, general region, device type). This uses cookies. It helps us improve the academies; it isn't used to build advertising profiles.
- Your learning progress. Points, completed scenarios, and saved prompts are stored in your own browser (localStorage) on your device — we don't collect them.
What we don't do
- No selling or renting of personal data. Ever.
- No third-party advertising pixels or ad retargeting.
- No access to your card details (Stripe holds those).
Emails from us
We email you about your account and purchases (receipts, access, important changes). That's transactional, not marketing spam.
Your choices
You can clear your on-device progress anytime by clearing your browser storage. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing jimmyk@vinyl-academy.com — we'll confirm when it's done. You can block analytics cookies with your browser settings without affecting your access.
Data security
Accounts and entitlements live with established providers (Supabase, Stripe, Netlify) over encrypted connections. No system is perfect, but we deliberately keep the amount of data we hold small.
